The CPU has launched a subscription request to the Academic Senates and Boards of Directors of state universities to decide the output of its universities by CRUI . Le recenti prese di distanza di alcuni rettori dalle posizioni ufficiali della CRUI, dopo mesi di sbandierato unanimismo, mostrano tutti i limiti di un organismo arcaico, incapace di sviluppare un dibattito e darsi meccanismi di funzionamento realmente democratici.

Di fronte all’evidenza che la CRUI oggi non serve davvero più a nulla e a nessuno, ci chiediamo e chiediamo all’intero corpo accademico che senso abbia tenere in vita strutture costosissime come la CRUI e la fondazione CRUI, cui le università italiane, colpite da tagli pesantissimi, versano ogni anno quote associative che non hanno conosciuto alcuna economic crisis. While cutting staff and services and investments in research are continuously resized, the funding of this "association of universities" is a luxury that our academic system really can not afford.

The legitimate right of presidents to themselves with their own forms of representation may well be played by a new association of rectors, and not at university, like any trade association that is funded by personal contributions of members.

For these reasons, we send an appeal to the Rector, the academic senates, boards of directors of all public universities for Italian deliberino leakage its universities by CRUI and invest the saved resources into more useful services for the university system and for the entire country.
